OZ SEASON 4 EPISODE 3 SERIES
If you are new to the series you should consider yourself warned, the series is extremely violent and disturbing and there is bit too much full-frontal male nudity for my taste (with no corresponding female nudity). Overall, this was consistently one of the finest series on television and the fourth season continues the trend. There are a lot of characters to keep track of and the show's creators do a pretty good job of splitting time amongst the different denizens of Emerald City. One of the few faults in the show is that sometimes characters can get lost in the shuffle a bit although it is much less of a problem than one might imagine. Simmons as Vern Schillinger is as iconic a character as you are going to find in any show. There are some great actors in this show, including Luis Guzman and Christopher Meloni. This is a show with a lot of twists and turns and one in which it is best to watch knowing as little as possible so I will neglect to mention any more spoiler-rich details of the season.

When the inmates realize this and start cheering it is one of the few moments in the series where the inmates globally express positive emotion to a fellow inmate. One of the highlights is when Busmalis (Tom Mardirosian) escapes. There are some great moments in this season. Cathey), who makes a deal with Simon Adebisi (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) that allows him to run wild, almost completely unchecked. The fourth season shows OZ spiraling out of control when Unit Manager Tim McManus (Terry Kinney) is fired in favor of Martin Querns (Reg. This is the only season of Oz with a 16 episode run. New inmates come in and old inmates get killed off. The true appeal of the show is that you never know who will die and who will live. This is the bloodiest, dirtiest, most crude show, ever seen on television.
Augustus Hill (Harrold Perrineau), a paraplegic inmate, provides an introduction and conclusion to each episode along with narration sprinkled throughout. This is a hard-edged show that takes place in an experimental wing of the fictional Oswald Maximum Security Prison, nicknamed Emerald City. Oz makes The Sopranos seem like Fraggle Rock.
